As most people get ready for thanksgiving dinner and Christmas shopping, I get ready for bowl season. I do love a good turkey but I love a good Capital One bowl just as much. I think this bowl season will be actually a good one. First off, no SEC bias if everything holds up. I do have the BCS matchups that I would like to see, and then the results coming up. I also think that bowl season really shows a good mix and parody in college football. There are teams and players that are leaving school after the bowl that you would like to see for one last time.Lets start with non BCS game that I care about
The Michigan game will be the most intriguing. Michigan is a team that is hard to figure out on a week to week basis. I will start their matchup by saying I think Gardner should play but wont. Robinson will be in his last collegiate game and regardless of the nerve damage he will start. I think their opponent will be Georgia. I think this is actually a good matchup. While Georgia was good all year, they played with inconsistencies. I think with the way Michigan's defense is playing, they can make this a game. I see Denard playing well and winning the MVP of the bowl game.
Prediction : UGA-27, MICH-34
BCS Games
Well I guess I will start with the Orange Bowl. I think it will be Florida State vs. Rutgers. This game doesnt mean anything for Florida State sense they are always projected as a top team and "have the talent" to win it all. However, this would mean everything for Rutgers. With the loss of their coach and other players to the draft they had to reload and they did. I think Florida State has more talent, but in the end Florida State is playing a home game and I think they will barely sneak this one out.
Prediction: FSU-31, Rutgers-17
The next game I will get to talking about is the Sugar Bowl. This is most likely a game between an SEC team and an at-large team. The SEC team will most likely be Alabama. The at large team can be a whole lot of teams but I will say its Oklahoma. If this matchup happens, I will be so excited. Talk about two programs with tradition, championships and heismans. Bama will come in as the favorite because well, they are the best team not named Oregon in the country. Oklahoma will come in as the underdog who has underachieved with another top recruiting class. Landry Jones is good, but against this bama defense, no one is that good. I say this may be a bigger blow out than most think. Big game Bob hasnt one a meaningful BCS game outside of UConn since 200. I think Bama roles but still great tradition.
Prediction: Alabama-27, Oklahoma-13
The Rose Bowl should be a great matchup. I think Nebraska will be representing the Big 10 and then Stanford will get an at large big. Stanford has a solid team and running game led by Stefan Taylor. Nebraska has played alright with Taylor Martinez under center. I think this may be one of the better games on the schedule. I like David Shaw as a coach and what he has done in the post Andrew Luck era. I think Stanford has a solid defense and enough offense to barely get by.
Prediction: Stanford-21, Nebraska- 17
The Fiesta Bowl should also be a solid matchup. Here you have Notre Dame who will come in undefeated, against a Florida team with something to prove. Florida has had a top notch defense all year but the offense still has room to grow. The exact opposite can be said for Notre Dame, their offense has struggled even against lesser opponents but Manti Te'o is a stud. I think Notre Dame comes out and puts on a show. Florida is good but maybe a year away from being complete.
Prediction: Notre Dame-23, Florida-20
Now onto the BCS championship game. I think Oregon is the best team in the country now that Alabama is out of the picture. Their high power offense along with an up and coming defense really makes for a great combination. Kansas State has not been afraid of anyone especially higher ranked opponents. Collin Klein will probably end up with the heisman and will be looking to add a national championship onto that resume. I think Oregon will be a little too much for Kansas State to handle for 60 minutes. I see Oregon in a shootout.
Predictions: Oregon-43, Kansas State-29
